In middle school, I started using deodorant because that’s what everyone did back then! You finished gym, you put deodorant on, you changed back into your clothes.
And then, I found out how awful deodorant with antiperspirant can be for you and can put you at risk for breast cancer. This was back in the pre-internet days when you got most of your information from friends. It made sense though.
My husband found a natural deodorant at the store a few months back and loved it! So I thought I would try to recreate it with my own little twist.
- 4 T Lavender Solar-Infused Oil
- 3 T Shea Butter
- 3 T Beeswax Pellets
- 2 T Baking Soda
- 3 T Organic Corn Starch or Organic Arrowroot Powder
- 20-40 drops Essential Oils of your choice (I used Lavender and Tea Tree Oil)
Combine all ingredients except essential oils and melt together using double boiler method.
Once melted, removed from heat and add essential oils.
Pour into container of choice. I re-used a couple old deodorant containers we had.
