This cute and simple headband has a simple twist in it, literally. It’s a quick knit and great gift. Perfect for wearing on a cold morning or to wear on cool spring or autumn days.
Gauge: 6 sts x 12 rows = 2”
Yarn: 250 – 300 yards Cascade Pinwheel yarn in Thunder Storm
Finished size: 18” x 8.5”
CO : cast on
K : knit
P : purl
Set-up: CO 16 with US 11 (8mm) Knitting Needles
R1: *K1, P1. Repeat from * until end.
R2: P all sts
Repeat for a total of 22 rows
Twisted Portion: For this section, you’ll divide the stitches into two parts for the twisted part.
Part 1: Working with the first 8 sts, continue R1 and R2 pattern over 8 sts for 12 rows. You can transfer the last 8 sts onto a spare knitting needle while you’re doing this.
Part 2: Once complete, set aside the first 8 sts onto a spare needles and repeat R1 and R2 pattern for the last 8 sts.
Now, here comes the twist! Put part 1 behind part 2. Continue R1 and R2 pattern for 22 rows.
Sew the beginning of the headband to the end of the headband. Weave in the ends and you’re done!
