Basic Ribbed Beanie – Free Knitting Pattern
There’s nothing more classic than a ribbed beanie and it’s a must-have for any wardrobe. The Basic Ribbed Beanie is a quick and easy knit that is easy to put down and pick back up.
Worsted weight mini skeins were used in rainbow order for the Basic Ribbed Beanie. To avoid weaving in ends, Russian join method was used to join the mini skeins. This allowed me to wind the yarn up into one skein and keep knitting, rather than stopping when I got to the end of a mini skein.
The Freya Top – Free Knitting Pattern
Freya is the goddess of love, fertility, battle, and death in Norse mythology. She’s a badass goddess in my book and she would rock this cropped top.
I was on a cropped top kick, but after making a few, my husband kept telling me they were “cropped” enough for my high waisted shorts. So, I made the Freya Cropped Top to be super cropped, just so I could wear them with my high waisted shorts.
The Freya Cropped Top is constructed from the bottom up. You can easily add more length to vary how “cropped” it is. There is simple shaping and i-cord straps. The lace design is on one side however the top is reversible where the lace side can be worn on the front of the back.

The Lessons I Learned From It During My Forced Hiatus
Shortly after I released my first sweater design (the Sierra Sweater), I was forced to take a short hiatus – pregnancy. While pregnant, I could hardly look at yarn without getting nauseous. I took this time as an opportunity to continue to research knitwear design.

The Story of Naluknits: Where It Started
I love to read about other designer’s and their stories of how they came to be. Everything looks so effortless on their social media, and then I hear about how they’ve been designing for 3 years, 5 years, 8 years, etc. It’s a great reminder to practice self-love and patience.
My Disastrous First Sweater Design
I love everything about knitting sweaters except the part where I have to assemble it. I would let all the finished pieces ready, but sometimes they would sit for YEARS before I would get around to sewing them.
In comes, seamless top-down sweaters *MIND-BLOWN*. Who knew you could get rid of the sewing and have a sweater you can try on while making it?
So I decided to design my first sweater as a top-down yoke.
